Biography
Kenji Ohara was born and raised in Fukushima, Japan and spent a year in a Canadian High School where he was offered a college basketball scholarship.

 

Forgoing the scholarship he returned to Japan and entered Dokkyo University.

 

After college he entered a theater group in which he learned acting and playwriting and began his professional career.

 

He has been known for the humor he strikes in the contrast between his stern looks and his comical performances. In the new Takeshi Kitano film “Outrage” (2010) you can find him strike another contrast in the character of an English-speaking, Japanese gangster.
